Marriage Ceremony
Your wedding ceremony is a very important part of your wedding day. It is a day that you and your family and friends will cherish forever.
Our initial contact will be spent on understanding your needs. Your Marriage Ceremony can be either on your Property, at a winery, on the beach, or in the city or the country. You can write the ceremony (excluding the legal requirements) yourself or we can do it together.
My commitment to you
I will offer professional advice on all aspects of your Marriage ceremony, and l can assist you both to create a ceremony that is special and unique. Please note however that there are obligatory words that have to said in front of witnesses.
I will bring to your attention to the Code of Practice which is designed to direct Marriage Celebrants as to how they should conduct themselves.
I will present to you a document outlining the obligations and consequences of marriage and the value of pre-marriage education/counselling. Relationships Australia Family Relationships Online
I will respect your confidentiality and privacy.
I will give you the opportunity to get to know me, and I will confirm straight away my availability to conduct the ceremony. In accepting my services a non-refundable payment of $150.00 will be required to secure the time/date. The fee structure will be presented to you at your first appointment.
I will conduct the Marriage Ceremony in a professional and dignified manner.
I will dress in a manner that is appropriate for the occasion.
I will present you with a bound copy of the ceremony at the conclusion of the wedding.
After the Ceremony I will seek your feedback.
Requirements and Further Reading
Notice of Intended Marriage Notice of Intended Marriage Form. Up to 18 months notice can be given. However, at least one month's notice must be given (one calendar month). The marriage may not be solemnised before the expiration of one month after the date on which the notice is received by the proposed celebrant.
Declarations. Prior to the solemnisation of the marriage, each of the parties to the intended marriage must make and subscribe before the proposed celebrant a declaration, as to the party's conjugal status and to the party's belief that there is no legal impediment to the marriage. The declarations must be made before the marriage is solemnised.
Evidence of dates of birth such as Birth Certificates.
Should either of you have been previously married, evidence of termination of the last marriage such a Decree Absolute or Death Certificate will be required.
Two witnesses 18 years or over must be present at the ceremony. Any of the attendants, relatives or guests may act as witnesses.
